Serving Engaged Empowered & Diverse Students (S.E.E.D.S.)

The Serving Engaged Empowered & Diverse Students (S.E.E.D.S.) office is an inclusive space created intentionally for the students at Texas A&M University-Commerce. S.E.E.D.S. is an office where ALL students are valued and respected. S.E.E.D.S. strives to develop a spirit of inclusion and appreciation for diversity in a multifaceted campus community.

We encourage all students to stop by the office located on the ground floor of the Rayburn Student Center or contact us via email: SEEDS@tamuc.edu. Our office is always looking for ways to grow and provide more intentional services and programs to the Lion community.

The Serving Engaged Empowered & Diverse Students (S.E.E.D.S.) office works to develop a spirit of inclusion and appreciation for diversity in a multifaceted campus community. We will work collaboratively with various campus and community partners to provide support, resources, educational opportunities, and events that build inclusion focusing on six areas of diversity: race/ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, interfaith, socioeconomic status, and disability. Through our services and initiatives, we hope to empower the students of Texas A&M University – Commerce to “Embrace Equality and Celebrate Differences” campus-wide.

Goals

The goals of the Serving Engaged Empowered & Diverse Students (S.E.E.D.S.) office are:

  • To help foster an inclusive campus environment where everyone matters and everyone contributes.
  • To advance diversity education and cultural competence through programs and initiatives.
  • To provide leadership opportunities and development for students.
  • To facilitate meaningful relationships and provide collaboration opportunities that creates multicultural awareness.
  • To serve as a resource for the Texas A&M University -  Commerce community (faculty, staff, & students)
