Campus Recreation has moved towards a hiring process that resembles what students will face after they graduate from A&M Commerce. We hope students learn how to prepare their professional documents (cover letter and resume), how to interview in various forums, and how to represent themselves in a professional setting. This hiring process happens in October/November for spring semester and March/April for fall and summer semesters.

  • Applications are open October 8 - October 24.

    • Lifeguards (must have current certification)
    • Intramural Sport Officials
    • Operation Assistants
    • Personal Trainers (must have current certification)
    • Group Fitness Instructors (must have current certification)

  • Resume and cover letter are required when applying.
  • Applicants can only apply for max of 2 positions.
  • We highly recommend visiting Career Development for help with your resume and cover letter as well as interviewing skills.
  • All candidates are contacted via e-mail concerning the status of their applications.  Please do not email regarding the status of your application.
  • All candidates will receive notification by no later than Thursday, November 1 if they received a first round group interview. Interview times will be scheduled according to your availability within the times below.
  • First round group interviews will take place on Monday, November 6 (5:30-8:30pm) and Tuesday, November 6 (6:30-9:30pm) which will last about an hour and half.
  • Advancing candidates will receive notification no later than Thursday, November 8 if they received a second round program specific interview.
  • Second round program specific interviews will take place November 12-15.
  • If hired, you must attend:
    • CPR/AED/First Aid certification course on Thursday, December 6 from 7pm-9:30pm.
    • Mandatory new hire training on Saturday, December 8, 9am-12pm.
    • Mandatory all staff training on Saturday, January 12 from 8am-12pm.
    • You can only work in one position within your 1st semester with Campus Rec.
    • You can only work up to 19 hours per week between all TAMCU on-campus jobs during fall/spring semesters.
