Join Our Campus Rec Work Family

Campus Recreation employs 130 student employees every year and is one of the largest student employers on campus. We utilize a hiring process that resembles what students will face after they graduate from A&M Commerce. We hope students learn how to prepare their professional documents (cover letter and resume), how to interview in various forums, and how to represent themselves in a professional setting. This hiring process happens in October/November for the spring semester and March/April/August for fall and summer semesters.

  • You can search directly for Campus Recreation positions or the direct position you are interested in. 

Applying and Hiring Information

  • Applications will open October 5-19 for three positions
    • Operations Assistant, Outdoor Adventure Staff, and Intramural Sport Official
  • All Campus Rec positions are also work-study if a student has work-study. 
  • Follow our social media platforms for updates of when we open hiring.

  • Resumes are required when applying.
  • Applicants can only apply for a max of two positions.
  • We highly recommend visiting Career Development for help with your resume and interviewing skills.
  • We do not review applicants until applications close. It then takes a few days to review. 
  • All candidates will be contacted by Friday, October 23 via e-mail concerning the status of their applications and if they advance to interviews.
  • Please do not email the staff regarding the status of your application.
If hired:
  • You must attend:
    • In-Person on-boarding at Human Resources: 30 minutes
    • CPR/AED/First Aid certification course: 8 hours, 4 online, and 4 in-person (For those positions that require it)
    • Mandatory department new hire orientation and training: 2 hours
    • Mandatory area new hire orientation and training: 5-10 hours
  • You'll need hard copies of identification documents from this list.
  • If you are a work-study, you must have your work-study permit and email to your new supervisor to begin the hiring process. Check your financial aid portal on my Leo.  
  • You can only be hired into one position to start your employment with Campus Recreation.
  • You can only work up to 19 hours per week between all A&M-Commerce on-campus jobs during fall and spring semesters.
