Timeline for Curriculum (Program) Changes

Completion Date for Curriculum Changes:

Written approval (email) from the Provost is required for program changes that require external approvals. If the proposed change is a new program offering, attach either the Undergraduate, Masters Preliminary Proposal Form; the Doctoral Preliminary Proposal Form or the Graduate Certificate Proposal Form depending on the level of the new program. Forms are available from Institutional Effectiveness (IE) or Graduate School. If the proposed change is not related to a new program offering, clearly describe it in the email with any additional information. [Send to Dr. Humphreys and copy the Department Head, Dean; Associate Provost; Cynthia Rhodes, and Alison Soeder on the requests.]
July 1 Registrar’s Office issues call for committee membership lists (due July 9th)
Sept 6 Register’s Office issues formal call for changes including all deadlines
Sept 24 Last day for faculty to submit initial changes
Sept 27–Oct 4 Department Curriculum Committee/IE Program Approval Coordinator Reviews
Oct 5–11 College Curriculum CommitteeReview
Oct 12–18* Educator Certification Review (if applicable)
Oct 19–Nov 1* Academic Department Head Council/Graduate Council Review (as applicable)
Nov 2–15 Faculty SenateReview
Nov 16–30 Deans Council Review
Dec 1–23 Institutional EffectivenessReview
Jan 3 Register’s Office enters changes into Banner & Await System/External Approvals
