A&M-Commerce and Parker Sign Articulation Agreement

By Sydni Walker

COMMERCE, Texas (Nov. 30, 2011)—Texas A&M University-Commerce recently signed an articulation agreement with Parker University for the mutual benefit of students and their respective institutions.

Parker is recognized as a leader in chiropractic education, where qualified and well-prepared students go to pursue a doctoral degree in chiropractic. A&M-Commerce and Parker share a common interest in helping students reach their educational objectives as speedily and economically as possible, and both schools have an interest in the health care needs of residents of Texas and the region.

“Dr. Dan Jones and I believe in our mission and share the same strong principles our respective universities were founded on,” said Fabrizio Mancini, president of Parker. “This articulation agreement is a living document that shows both universities have similar values and share a common bond.”

There will be a joint admission process between A&M-Commerce and Parker that will allow qualified pre-chiropractic students to follow a defined curriculum for three years of full-time study at A&M-Commerce, where they will earn a Bachelor of Science degree. Upon completion of their bachelor’s degree, Parker will select students to be accepted into its Doctor of Chiropractic program.

“The reality of this agreement is the people from both universities that will make it work,” Mancini said. “This will be a viral and alive agreement that will lead to wonderful accomplishments in the coming years.”
