COMMERCE, TX – Nearly 1,000 prospective students and their families descended on the campus of Texas A&M University – Commerce March 5th for the spring 2011 Mane Event Preview Day.

“It was one of our best preview days ever,” said Stephanie Holley, dean of admissions and enrollment management. “We had an amazing group of visitors who spent their day experiencing much of what A&M – Commerce has to offer.”

The preview day included informative sessions led by the Honors College, University College, and Residential Living and Learning, and a variety of academic sessions where students could explore potential degree programs. Visitors also attended an information fair where faculty, staff, students, and families could exchange ideas and information about programs at A&M-Commerce. The university also awarded $1000 scholarships to 15 students in attendance.

The preview day was made possible thanks to the efforts of 60+ volunteers, including the Lion Student Ambassadors. Panimation and the Pep Band added energy and spirit to the festivities, while Sodexo provided breakfast and lunch to all those participating in the event.

“The day was full of energy, information, giveaways, food and scholarship money,” Holley said. “We value and appreciate all of those who attended and our current students, faculty and staff who assisted us in presenting a wonderful day!”

The next Mane Event Preview Day will be held October 15th. For more information, visit www.tamu-commerce.edu/maneEvent.
