Summary of Campus Climate Initiatives

Since 1999, Rankin & Associates Consulting has specialized in assisting educational institutions in assessing campus climate and providing intervention strategies via the Transformational Tapestry Model1.

Dr. Susan (Sue) Rankin is the principal for Rankin & Associates Consulting. Dr. Rankin is an Associate Professor in the department of Education Policy Studies and a Senior Research Associate in the Center for the Study of Higher Education at the Pennsylvania State University. Dr. Rankin has been at Penn State for thirty-six years.

Dr. Rankin’s primary research area is the assessment of institutional/organizational climate, with a particular interest in social justice issues. Based on the assessment analysis, Dr. Rankin collaborates with institutional teams to develop recommendations for change through policy development and programmatic initiatives. Dr. Rankin’s research and teaching at Penn State revolve around social justice issues and concerns and she has consulted with over 100 higher education institutions regarding assessment and planning.
