Supporting STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) best practices through recruiting, advising and educating future secondary teachers to to be effective in the classroom and in conducting research.

What is LeoTeach?

LeoTeach is a collaborative initiative between the TAMU-Commerce College of Education and Human Services (CEHS) and the College of Science, Engineering, Agriculture (CoSEA) to recruit and educate secondary teachers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).


LeoTeach Goal

Our goal is to recruit, educate, and retain highly-qualified STEM teachers who know and use best practices with their students.

  • Kit Price Blount

    Dr. Blount has over 25 years of experience in teaching geoscience courses, facilitating faculty development, and writing and implementing funded initiatives primarily in support of STEM pre-service and in-service professional development.

  • Donna Tavener

    Mrs. Tavener has over 38 years of experience in education as a public school STEM teacher, department chair, coach, university clinical instructor and director of educator certification.
