Join us in and around our Commerce campus as we take our learning off the shelf and into the college campus community.

Annual Symposium for educators in memory of Bill Martin Jr.

Inaugural Symposium 2005, hosted more than 450 participants, Steven Kellogg, Keynote.

Second Annual Symposium on April 28, 2006 featured Jose Aruego.

April 27, 2007, speaker Ashley Bryan, author of Beautiful Blackbird (Coretta Scott King Illustrator Award Winner) and Sing to the Sun.

The speaker on May 2, 2008 was Gloria Houston, author of My Great Aunt Arizona and dozens of other books.

Our fifth annual Symposium on May 8, 2009 featured Jane Yolen (Owl Moon, The Devil's Arithmetic), and celebrated the opening of the new Sam Rayburn Student Center in Commerce.

Friday, May 7, 2010, Jerry Pallotta was our keynote.

Our Seventh Annual Symposium on Friday, May 6, 2011 welcomes Brian Pinkney to Commerce.

The Eighth Annual Symposium on Friday, May 4, 2012 features Old Black Fly author, Jim Aylesworth as keynote speaker.

Brod Bagert came to Commerce in 2013 for the Ninth, and Steven Kellogg returned for the Tenth.

Floyd Cooper came in 2015, and now it's Brod Bagert's turn to return, Thursday, April 7, 2016.
