Jennifer Ashcraft

Jennifer Ashcraft, MSN Ed., RN is an Instructor in the Department of Nursing.  Originally, from Arkansas, Professor Ashcraft graduated from the University of Arkansas – Fort Smith (formerly Westark College) with an Associate Degree in Nursing in 1992.  She received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Arkansas Tech University in 1996.  She relocated to Texas to work for the American Heart Association as a developer of training products.  In 2014, she completed her Masters in Nursing Education from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. 

Professor Ashcraft has extensive experience as an emergency department nurse and was a flight nurse for five years.  In addition to her teaching responsibilities, she also continues to practice nursing in the Hunt Regional Emergency Medical Center in Quinlan, TX and maintains her American Heart Association instructor status in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support as well as the Neonatal Resuscitation Program through the American Academy of Pediatrics. 

She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society Iota Nu Chapter at Large, National League of Nursing, and a lifetime member of the Emergency Nurses Association.  She is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Higher Education from Texas A&M University-Commerce.
