Donna Callicoat

Donna Callicoat, MSN, RN, FNP-c  began her career in healthcare in 1994 as an RN graduating from Paris Junior College with an Associate Degree in Nursing.  Her first interest was in the medical-surgical area and then orthopedics at St Joseph’s Hospital in Paris, TX.  She later worked at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital in Sulphur Springs, TX in labor and delivery, then Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville in Greenville, TX in labor and delivery, newborn nursery, and postpartum care.  She is a member of American Academy of Nurse Practitioner’s and Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society Iota Nu Chapter at Large. 

She worked as a Director of Nursing in Home Health at Caregivers Plus and worked in the nursing field as charge nurse and floor nursing and for about 11 years.  She then pursued her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing in 2005 at University of Texas at Tyler and Master’s of Science in Nursing with a certificate in Family Nurse Practitioner in 2008 at University of Texas at Tyler and Texas Tech University.  Her practice was busy with family practice clients with acute and chronic illnesses and she continues to work in family practice as a Nurse Practitioner at Paris-Lamar County Health District.

Mrs. Callicoat was born and raised in Paris, TX, as well as birthed and raised 1 child in Paris, TX.  She joined the faculty of Texas A&M University - Commerce Nursing in August 2015 to pursue a desire to teach and pass on knowledge to grow new Registered Nurses to serve our communities.
