Halli Carr

Halli Carr, MSN, RN, ACNP-BC is an Instructor in the Department of Nursing. Professor Carr is a native of East Texas and several of her family members are graduates of Texas A&M-Commerce. She attended Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN where she received a Bachelor of the Arts in Spanish and English in 2004. Professor Carr became a Registered Nurse in 2005. She received her Masters of Science in Nursing from Vanderbilt University in 2007 with an emphasis in Adult Acute Care. She is currently pursuing her Doctorate of Nursing Practice at Vanderbilt University and will finish in December of 2017. Her past work experience includes teaching BSN Nursing students at Belmont University, Trauma and Surgical Critical Care, Critical Care Medicine, Emergency Medicine, and Internal Medicine.

Professor Carr currently works part-time at Baylor University Medical Center in the Trauma/Surgical Intensive Care Unit. She has been able to practice the art of Nursing all over the world during various medical mission trips and in teaching students abroad. She is also a member of several International Disaster Response teams and has deployed following hurricanes and earthquakes. Her professional interests include organ donation, palliative care, and tropical/field medicine.
