Timothy A. Golden has been a professional music educator, performer, adjudicator and clinician for 3 decades. He retired as Director of Bands from Lone Star High School in Frisco, Texas in 2018. Mr. Golden spent 10 years in Frisco ISD and opened Lone Star in 2010. He has also served as Director of Bands at East Gaston High School (NC) and Prestonwood Christian Academy (TX).  Mr. Golden has served as an adjunct instructor/professor at Lenoir-Rhyne College, Davidson College, Catawba Valley Community College and the University of Charlotte.  
 
Highlights of Mr. Golden’s tenure at Lone Star include: 2 Honor Band State Finalist finishes (top 7), UIL Texas State Marching Band Contest Appearance (5A), 2017  PASIC selection and performance, consistent UIL Varsity Sweepstakes awards, 2017 Mark of Excellence Wind Band and Jazz Band National Winners, multiple Jazz Contest Overall winning bands (including TCU in 2017 and 2018. numerous marching band class championship rankings and several Grand Champion finishes, 29 TMEA All-State Students.
 
Mr.Golden is a proud alumni of the Hayes School of Music at Appalachian State University (NC):  Masters of Music 1995 (Graduate Recital on Saxophone), Bachelor’s of Music Education 1990 (Cum Laude, Honor Teacher in Student Teaching). He is a former US Army National Guard First Lieutenant (receiving a full ROTC Scholarship).
 
Mr. Golden is active in his church and loves golf and travel. He has been married since 1990 to his wife, Michele, and has one son.
