We highly encourage your participation in the Rules Committee Meeting which strives to improve the Texas Foreign Language Symposium and the competition experience for students and teachers.  This year, the Net Olé Business Meeting will be conducted with the Rules Committee Meeting in the Alumni Center (B38 on campus map) at 1:00 pm on Thursday, April 11, 2013. Please send at least one teacher to represent your school at the meeting.

Unfortunately, time constraints make it impossible to have an awards ceremony the day of the event, but we encourage you to present your Texas Foreign Language Symposium awards during your school’s end-of-the-year awards ceremony or create your own ceremony and present awards in front of your language classes. This is a great way to create enthusiasm for your language programs!

REMINDERS FOR STUDENTS:

Contest Requirements

  • Remind your students to bring two rating sheets to each event in which they are competing.  They will not be allowed to participate without the rating sheets.
  • Your school number must appear on all student name tags and the judges rating sheets for competition.
  • Remind your students to bring their original prepared speech, if the event in which they are participating requires it.

Student Behavior
Students are welcome to play in the Game Room of the Club (SRSC) when they are not competing.  Please remind your students to respect the building and all university property and to clean up after themselves.  The University has agreed not to charge Net Olé for the use of any of the facilities and rooms the day of our competition, and it makes it easier for them to renew that agreement with us if students are well-behaved.

Please note that all materials for teachers, judges, and students are located on our website
