Pride Marching Band

Marching Band

Performing for nearly 60,000 people a year, the "Pride" Marching Band is Texas A&M University Commerce's most visible instrumental ensemble.  The "Pride" performs at all home football games and at marching exhibitions throughout the state of Texas. Recent notable exhibitions include Area UIL Marching Contests and the UIL State Marching Band Contest.

The "Pride" is based on a foundation that a college marching band can produce a product that is both visually and musically exemplary.  Because of this, the ensemble performs one primary show a season, which allows for a level of marching and musical performance difficult to obtain from college marching bands choosing to perform multiple shows each fall.   This concept provides a unique and practical opportunity for the music education majors at Texas A&M University-Commerce, as it allows them to directly experience the pacing and attention to detail that they may employ with their own ensembles as future music educators.  The ensemble continues to be on the cutting edge of design and recently have featured a unique electronic component to each show.

The Texas A & M University Commerce Pride Marching Band is the largest and most spirited student organization on the Texas A & M University Commerce campus and draws its membership from the entire student body, representing numerous states and most majors.

The Pride Marching Band rehearses three days a week in the fall semester and attends all home football games as well numerous marching band exhibitions.

The Pride Marching Band serves as the musical ambassadors for the university and the community as a whole.

Students that are interested in participating in The Pride should contact Mr. Goodwin at Allan.Goodwin@tamuc.edu
