Pride Marching Band

Marching Band in the stadium

The "Pride" Marching Band is Texas A&M University-Commerce's most visible instrumental ensemble. The "Pride" performs at all home football games and at marching exhibitions throughout the state of Texas and the United States. Recent notable exhibition performances included Bands of America Grand Nationals (2019), Bands of America San Antonio Super Regional (2018), and the Texas 6A State Marching Contest (2016).

The "Pride" is based on a foundation that a university marching band can produce a product that is both visually and musically exemplary. The "Pride" is generally considered one of the most unique and innovative college marching ensembles in the country. recently noted, "The Texas A&M University-Commerce "Pride" Marching Band did the impossible at the Grand Nationals Championships at Bands of America this weekend, they literally left the crowd stunned. That doesn't happen much in Indy but as the "Pride" Band exited the field fans couldn't believe what had just happened. They were speechless”.

The ensemble performs two to three shows each season, focusing on one primary full production, which allows for a level of marching and musical excellence difficult to obtain from more traditional college marching bands choosing to perform multiple shows each Fall. This concept provides a unique and practical opportunity for the music education majors at Texas A&M University-Commerce, as it allows them to directly experience the pacing and attention to detail that they will need to employ with their own ensembles as future music educators.

The "Pride" Marching Band is the largest and most spirited student organization on the Texas A&M University-Commerce campus and draws its membership from the entire student body, representing numerous states and most majors. The "Pride" Marching Band rehearses three days a week in the Fall semester and attends home football games in addition to invited exhibitions.

The "Pride" serves as the musical ambassador for the university and the community as a whole. Students that are interested in participating in The "Pride" should follow the links below or contact the staff at
