Georgia Kornegay

 Adjunct Instructor of Music,University Singers conductor and

Secondary Choral Music Education

Georgia Kornegay taught choral music in Texas public schools for 37 years.
Her first twenty-one years were predominantly at the middle school level,
followed by sixteen successful years at the high school level.  She holds a
Bachelor of Music Education degree, Magna Cum Laude, from Baylor University,
and a Master of Music in Choral Conducting, Summa Cum Laude, from
Texas State University.  She was a student of Dr. Kenneth Fulton during her master's work.

 Mrs. Kornegay is frequently requested to judge UIL events throughout the state, and has made numerous presentations for choral music educators in staff development.  She has conducted Middle School Region choirs in various parts of the state, and has also accompanied numerous High School Region choirs and soloists.

 She has served as the Middle School/Jr. High Vice President of the Texas Choral Directors Association from 1999-2001, and as the Region 3 Vocal Division Secretary from 2003 - 2015.

 Additionally, she serves as the church pianist and the director of orchestra at First Baptist Church of Garland, Texas.

 Mrs. Kornegay holds affiliations in TMEA, TCDA, TMAA, TODA, and TRTA.

 She and her husband, Dean, have been married thirty-seven years and are the parents of two grown children and the grandparents of three.
