Cory Doran

Andrew LyngeCory Doran is currently the Front Ensemble coordinator and instructor for the Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps, former Interim Percussion Professor at Kent State University, Ensemble Instructor for Matrix Indoor Marching Percussion Ensemble and works as a music arranger for Ferguson Design Solutions. Mr. Doran received his Masters degree (2011) in Music Performance from Texas A&M University-Commerce under the instruction of Dr. Brian Zator and his Undergraduate degree (2009) in Music Performance from Youngstown State University under the instruction of Dr. Glenn Schaft.  

Previously, Mr. Doran held the position as Percussion Director at Hilliard Bradley High School in Hilliard, OH. Mr. Doran has instructed throughout northeast Ohio, northeast Texas, and Pittsburgh as a front ensemble specialist as well as concert percussion and drum set clinician. As a teacher, he has made a name for himself as a front ensemble instructor for Matrix Indoor Marching Percussion Ensemble (2009-present), the Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps (2015-present), and Glassmen Drum and Bugle Corps (2009-2011).   

In addition to his involvement in education, Mr. Doran is also a freelance percussionist and composer/arranger. He has written for Hilliard Bradley, y-Me Percussion group in Milan, Italy, Revelation Indoor Percussion, Amhurst High School Indoor Percussion, Impulse Indoor Percussion, Texas A&M University-Commerce marching percussion section, and Grove City High School front ensemble. Performing groups include the Columbus top 40 band “The Popbillies,” Country band “Union Rose,” and “Tangent Impact Percussion Project.”
