Admissions & Scholarships

Admission to the Department of Music:

Acceptance as a music major is a two-part process. One, you must be admitted to the University, and two, you must be accepted within the Department of Music. To be accepted within the Department of Music each student must complete an audition to the appropriate division (vocal, instrumental and piano). This audition will serve as the audition for acceptance to the Department of Music and for scholarships.

Access the Audition and Scholarship Application Form by selecting the following appropriate online form.

All candidates are expected to complete the Audition and Scholarship Application Form to the department before an audition. All auditions require a confirmed reservation with Mr. Phillip Clements, Director of Instrumental Activities, Dr. Randall Hooper, Director of Vocal Activities, or Dr. Luis Sanchez, Director of Keyboard Studies at least two weeks prior to the audition date. For scholarship applicants, an on-campus audition is required before May 1st. If a live audition is not possible on one of the department's audition dates, an alternative date may be arranged, or if the applicant resides 400 or more miles from the university, a high quality DVD may be submitted.
