Scholarship Details

Alton Biggs Scholarship
Requirements:
Full-time student attempting a Bachelor of Science degree who is a Junior by award date. Must have a general GPA of 2.5 and a major GPA of 3.5. Supply statement of career goals, campus activities and qualifications, along with your transcript. You cannot re-apply for this scholarship. Family and individual income will not be a consideration. Scholarship recipients must be Texas residents. Scholarship will be given to a Biology major in the even years.

  • Student will be registered the equivalent of full-time enrollment, as defined by the biology and art departments
  • The scholarship will be given to a junior in the fall for four semesters @ $1,000 per semester (total $4000 scholarship).
  • Scholarships will be given to a Biology major in even years and a Visual Arts major in odd years.
  • Total GPA must be at least a 2.5 (on a 4.0 system) and must be maintained for the duration.
  • A GPA of at least 3.5 in major courses is required and must be maintained for the duration.
  • If the student does not return in his/her senior year or does not maintain the required GPA, etc. then the remaining $2,000 may be awarded to another senior in the same field.
  • If the scholarship offer is at least $1,000 and you are not a Texas resident, this scholarship will waive non-resident tuition charges. The non-resident tuition waiver will not be received in cash; however, an adjustment will be made to your tuition bill.
  • The scholarship will be credited to my student account 10-days prior to the start of each semester.
  • Failure to meet these requirements may cause my scholarship to be revoked

Arthur M Pullen Scholarship
Requirements:
Full-time student attempting a Bachelor of Science degree, a Pre-Med Degree or a Pre-Dental degree who is a Junior with a minimum of 75 Semester Hours. Must have a general GPA of 3.6 and a major GPA of 3.5. Supply statement of career goals, campus activities and qualifications, along with your transcript. You can re-apply for this scholarship.

Donald Ingold Scholarship
Requirements:
Full-time or part-time student attempting a Bachelor of Science degree who is enrolled by the award date. Must have a general GPA of 2.75 on 12 semester hours or have been in the upper third of the graduating high school class. Supply statement of career goals, campus activities, qualifications and athletic goals, along with your transcript. Must show participation on an NCAA athletic team. You can re-apply for this scholarship.

Elsie Bodemann
Requirements:
Full-time student attempting a Bachelor of Science Degree, but only for Sophomore and Junior level. Must have a major GPA of 3.25 in sciences. Supply statement of career goals, campus activities and qualifications, along with your transcript. Must have already made arrangements to complete research under a professor and have two faculty recommendations. You can only re-apply for this scholarship once.

Francis Elizabeth Potts Scholarship
Requirements:
Full-time student attempting an Environmental Science Degree (major or minor) who has a minimum of 12 Semester hours of ENVS classes. Must have a general GPA of 3.0 and a major GPA of 3.0. Supply statement of career goals (specifically in ENVS), campus activities and qualifications, along with your transcript. You can re-apply for this scholarship.

Gideon and Jena James Scholarship
Requirements:
Full-time student attempting an Environmental Science Degree who is a Sophomore or higher. Must have a general GPA of 3.0. Supply statement of career goals, campus activities and qualifications, along with your transcript. You can re-apply for this scholarship.
