Marilyn Black & Mary Clare Hughes Memorial Scholarship Endowment

A permanent endowment fund was established by Joe and Marilyn Black at Texas A&M University-Commerce to be used as a yearly scholarship for upperclass undergraduate students majoring in physics. The fund originally was established to honor Mary Clare Hughes but upon the death of Marilyn, the name was changed to honor both. Marilyn obtained both a B.S. degree in physics and a Master's in Education degree from A&M-Commerce. She passed away on August 18, 2006.

Friends and family of Mary Clare Hughes and Marilyn Black are invited to participate in increasing the value of the endowment corpus. Contributions are to be made out to the university and are tax deductible.

All contributions will have an impact on the amount of scholarship money that can be offered each year, and will make the donor a part of this worthwhile tribute to Mary and Marilyn.
