Physical Education Pedagogy Graduate Certificate

The Physical Education Pedagogy Graduate Certificate is 15-hours of health, kinesiology, and sports studies course work for students who want to increase their knowledge and develop competencies in the area of teaching physical education.  Students may complete the certificate independently or as part of their graduate degree. 

Students, in consultation with the graduate coordinator, must develop a plan of study that details specific courses the students will use to satisfy the certificate requirements.

Certificate Requirements:

Coursework must be completed at A&M-Commerce with a 3.0 GPA on all courses used for the certificate.  Fifteen semester hours from the following (no substitutions):

HHPK 522 Teaching Health Related Fitness K-12
HHPK 530 Sports Conditioning
HHPK 523 Teaching Games Content K-12
HHPK 536 Adapted Kinesiology
HHPK 572 Reflective Teaching
HHPK 510 Designing Curricula

Required Documents for Admission:

  • Application
  • Application fee: $50 domestic student
  • All official transcripts - Bachelor's degree, including all transcripts used towards the bachelor's degree.  Any master's degree transcript or transcripts with graduate coursework (if applicable).
