Public History Graduate Certificate

The twelve-credit Graduate Certificate in Public History at Texas A&M University–Commerce provides training for students interested in public history and practitioners already active in the field. Certificate Requirements:

Coursework must be completed at A&M-Commerce with a 3.0 GPA on all courses used for the certificate.  Twelve semester hours from the following (no substitutions):

HIST 564 Introduction to Public History
ALIB 564 Archives Administration
HIST 566 Oral History Theory and Methods
HIST 567 Internship in Public History

Required Documents for Admission:

  • Application
  • Application fee: $50 domestic student
  • All official transcripts - Bachelor's degree, including all transcripts used towards the bachelor's degree.  Any master's degree transcript or transcripts with graduate coursework (if applicable).
