Welcome to public health, where you can answer the call to help drive solutions to society’s challenges and make the community around you better than it was yesterday. In the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, the need and demand for public health professionals has dramatically increased.

The Master of Public Health program will prepare students with the skillset needed to become leading public health professionals capable of addressing current health problems using multidisciplinary and evidence-based approaches. Students learn how to master all of the skills needed to monitor, plan and evaluate public health program and services. Professionals with an MPH degree can hold positions of responsibility in a variety of settings. Coursework includes program planning and implementation of health promotion programs; health psychology; global health; and health promotion with special populations; among others. This program is offered both in thesis and non-thesis track.

The degree is offered 100% online* to be more accessible to the working professional.  Students in this program will receive professional training and development in the areas such as but not limited to: Corporate, Commercial, Community-Based Health Agencies, Local to National agencies and more. The MPH degree requires successful completion of a minimum of 42 semester credit hours. Most full-time students can expect to take approximately 18-24 months to complete the degree program.

Admission Consideration Requirements for All Students

  • Apply Texas Application
  • Application fee:  $50 domestic student 
  • All official transcripts - Bachelor's degree, including all transcripts used towards bachelor's degree.  Any master's degree transcript or transcripts with graduate coursework (if applicable).
  • Resume(Vita)
  • A Statement of Purpose and Objectives: Submit a written narrative describing your past education, experience, professional career objectives, and how the TAMUC MPH Program will help you achieve your professional goals.
  • Two (2) MPH recommendation forms attesting to the applicant's readiness and academic performance.

  • One of the following:

    a. Official general GRE score, or
    b. An awarded master's degree from a regionally accredited university with an overall GPA of 3.25 or higher,
    c. An awarded bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited university with:
          i.  an overall GPA of 3.00 or higher or
          ii.  a minimum 3.00 GPA on the last 60 hours of bachelor's degree.

Additional Admission Consideration Requirements for International Students Only

  • Application fee, $75.00, US dollars (this may be paid online when you apply)
  • Bank Statement from the sponsor, must reflect a balance of at least $26,024.82 USD (must be less than 1 year old)
