School Librarian Certification

TCRT-LIBR - School Librarian Certification

To apply for Professional Certification; click the Apply Texas application link on the right and complete a Graduate/domestic application for the School Librarian Certification program and pay the application fee.  You must submit all required documents to gain admission to the Graduate School before you can be admitted to the certification.  Once admitted to the Graduate School, you must submit a second application to the Educator Certification & Academic Services Department (CECAS). For additional information concerning the CECAS application; please contact Leesa Cannon at Leesa.Cannon@tamuc.edu.

 This office processes all applications and fees for certification and can answer questions concerning certification requirements and procedures.

Required Documents for Admission

Admission Consideration Requirements for All Students

  • Apply Texas Application
  • Application fee:  $50 domestic student 
  • All official transcripts - Bachelor's degree, including all transcripts used towards bachelor's degree.  Any master's degree transcript or transcripts with graduate coursework (if applicable).
  • Conferred master's degree from a regionally accredited university with at least a 3.0 or higher overall GPA.
  • Proof of Valid Texas Teacher or Principal Certificate
  • Essay
