Planning on attending summer 2017?  Interested in obtaining financial aid for summer 2017?

Make sure our office has on file a 2016-2017 FAFSA/TASFA.


If you already have a 2016-2017 FAFSA/TASFA on file and our office awarded financial aid in the fall and/or spring

1. Our office will activate your 2016-2017 FAFSA/TASFA for the summer.  An email notice will be sent when your 2016-2017 FAFSA/TASFA for the summer is activated.

2. Complete the Summer Financial Aid Request.


If you already have a 2016-2017 FAFSA/TASFA on file, were awarded financial aid in the fall and/or spring, are graduating in the spring, and will continue at A&M-Commerce for a new degree

1. Send an email to FAO.web@tamuc.edu let our office know you are graduating and are applying to Graduate School.

Our office will make what changes are needed to the 2016-2017 FAFSA/TASFA.

Remember, you will need to be fully admitted or conditionally admitted to be eligible for financial aid.

2. Complete the Summer Financial Aid Request.


If you received financial aid at another school and you are transferring to A&M-Commerce

1. FAFSA applicants - You need to add to the 2016-2017 FAFSA our school code (003565) by June 10, 2017, so that our office will have the application by our June 15, 2017 deadline.  You need to notify your current school you are no longer attending and are transferring to A&M-Commerce. 

TASFA applicants - You need to complete the TASFA and return all required documents to our office by June 15, 2017.

If you have not completed an application: 

FAFSA applicants - 2016-2017 FAFSA at any point during the academic year, then you need to complete the 2016-2017 FAFSA at www.fafsa.gov and list our school code (003565) by June  10, 2017, so that our office will have the application by our June 15, 2017 deadline.  You need to notify your current school you are no longer attending and are transferring to A&M-Commerce.  

TASFA applicants - You need to complete the TASFA and return all required documents to our office by June 15, 2017.

This will enable our office to receive your application and process for financial aid.

2. Complete the Summer Financial Aid Request.

Instructions to complete the Summer Financial Aid Request in myLeo:

  • Step 1: Log in to your myLeo account
  • Step 2: Select "Financial Aid”
  • Step 3: Select "Financial Aid”
  • Step 4: Select "Award"
  • Step 5: Select "Award for Aid Year"
  • Step 6: Using the drop down box select the "2016-2017" Aid Year, and click "Submit"
  • Step 7: Click the "Resources/Additional Information" tab
  • Step 8: Answer the Summer Terms & Conditions question first by selecting “YES” or “NO” using the drop down box. Summer Terms & Conditions must be agreed to prior to being packaged for eligible summer financial aid
  • Step 9: Answer the registration and study abroad questions by selecting “YES” or “NO” using the drop down menu.
  • Step 10: "Submit" at the bottom, left of the page

Once this request has been submitted no changes can be made. You must email fao.web@tamuc.edu regarding the changes.

A notification will be sent to your LeoMail address when your summer award is available for acceptance.


The Summer Financial Aid Request is not applicable for students pursuing the Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences (BAAS) in Organizational Leadership degree.
