Typical Concerns

College students often experience anxiety, stress or depression during their college years. Dealing with these issues can affect their academic or work performance, lead to financial concerns, or impact personal and family relationships. While individuals cope successfully most of the time, there are times they can benefit from the expertise of our caring, supportive staff. Typical concerns for students who seek our help include:

  • Academic skills assistance
  • Clarifying values and priorities
  • Depression and anxiety
  • Disordered eating
  • Exploring sexuality
  • Increasing self-confidence
  • Overcoming loneliness and shyness
  • Relationship issues
  • Stress management
  • Substance abuse

The list above is not meant to be comprehensive. If students have concerns other than the ones listed, the staff is available to talk with them about their concerns.
