VERY IMPORTANT: Because of recent changes to US immigration policy impacting citizens of certain countries, Texas A&M University-Commerce is strongly advising our students from Iraq, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen to avoid any travel outside the United States for at least the next 90 days. Should you travel outside the United States, you will not be able to reenter the country, at least until the ban on entry is lifted. (NOTE: while the courts have issued a temporary injunction against the presidential executive order that bans citizens from certain countries from entering the U.S., this is only in effect for the next 7 days--it is not a full reversal of the executive order.) Before you consider any travel outside the United States, you are strongly encouraged to consult with the International Student and Scholar Services Office. Following is the warning now posted on the website of the U.S. State Department:

"Urgent Notice: Under the Executive Order on Protecting the Nation from Terrorist Attacks by Foreign Nationals signed on January 27, 2017, visa issuance to nationals of the countries of Iraq, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen has been suspended effective immediately until further notification. We will announce any other changes affecting travelers to the United States as soon as that information is available."
