Aquatics

The Aquatics division, located in the Great Out-Roars area of Campus Rec, is an awesome outdoor facility that includes a heated leisure pool, a two-tier spa, two sand volleyball courts, two basketball courts, picnic tables, BBQ grills, and a sunbathing area. 
 
The Aquatics division continually offers a variety of programs and activities so the members of A&M-Commerce community can maintain a healthy lifestyle and stay fit while enjoying the outdoors and having tons of fun!

Learn to Swim Program 

Registration opens for all our Learn to Swim Programs on Monday May 30th

Group Lessons

Current Member: $70 per session      Non-member: $85 per session

Group Lessons are available for participants who want to grow their swimming skills along with their peers.

Each session is 8 lessons lasting 45 minutes each on Monday -Thursday.

Registration closes the Thursday before the session start day

Session 1: June 20th – June 30th

Level 1 - 5:30 pm
Level 2 - 6:30 pm

Session 2: July 11th - July 21st

Level 1 - 12 pm
Level 2 - 1 pm

Session 3: July 25th - August 4th

Level 1 - 5:30 pm
Level 2 - 6:30 pm

Session 4: August 8th - August 18th 

Level 1 - 12 pm
Level 2 - 1 pm

Private Lessons

Current Member: $80 per session      Non-member: $100 per session

Private lessons focus on the goals of the swimmer.

Available upon request for all levels as well as Parent and Child lessons.

Private lessons are purchased in a package of 4 lessons lasting 45 minutes each. These lessons must be completed within 1 week.

Level 1: Introduction to Water Skills (Group and Private)

Orients participants to the water and helps them gain aquatic skills. Participants start learning how to be safe around water.

Level 2: Fundamental Aquatic Skills (Group and Private)

Participants work on propulsions and fundamental skill independently. They work on utilizing both arms and legs simultaneously and alternating them.

Level 3: Stroke Development (Private)

Introduces new strokes and builds on the skills learned in Level 2 through additional guided practices as well as working on technique. 

 

Due to university policy, BBQ grills may only be used with a permit from the Department of Safety. Campus Recreation cannot issue these permits and cannot accommodate requests without one.

Please note the pool and outdoor area are subject to close unexpectedly due to unforeseen circumstances and inclement weather.
