Citizenship and Service

Participants need at least 40 total hours of community service to complete the citizenship and service components.Service can be conducted on and off campus. Prior community service within the past year can count towards the latter component, in addition to an authorized signature.

Mentorship

For the mentorship component, students can either choose a mentor or have one assigned to them. Students are required to go over certain talking points with their mentor, whom they meet with at least four times in an academic year. One of the talking points is leadership development, where students discuss with their mentor how participating in the certificate program has affected them as a leader.

Creation of a professional portfolio

A portfolio has the ability to bring to life your accomplishments, skills, experiences, and attributes. Students would be able to create a link on their resume that would give access to their creative report of reflections, images and/or videos. At the end of the program there will be an opportunity for students to win an incentive based on the best presentation.
