iThenticate

Overview

iThenticate is a system that assists with academic integrity by allowing faculty users to submit theses and dissertations to check for correct citation methods.  It offers visual cues in a report that highlights possible discrepancies.

iThenticate is available for full time faculty and can be accessed at https://app.ithenticate.com/en_us/login.  Please use your university e-mail address (firsname.lastname@tamuc.edu)

Key Points About iThenticate Report Processing

iThenticate reports can take up to 24 hours to generate. The generation time is dependent on the size of the submission that is being made and also how many total iThenticate requests are received, including non-A&M-Commerce submissions.

When you upload a document to iThenticate the home page will display the stage for the status of the submission.

  • Firstly, the system will save the submission to your account so that matches can be found. The word 'saving' will display.
  • Secondly, the system will start to extract the text from your submission and to allow us to start the process of looking for matches. The word 'extracting' will display.
  • Thirdly, the system will start to look for matches. The word 'processing' will display.
  • Fourthly, the report will generate. A box containing a percentage will display. Click on this box to access the submissions.

**If you submit another document into your account while one is already in the “processing queue,” the first one will change to a “pending status” while the new upload is being processed.  Only one document in your account queue can be processed at a time.
