James G. Gee Library at Texas A&M University-Commerce has served as a depository library for publications of the United States Government since 1937 and is located in the First Congressional District of the State of Texas. Currently, the Government Documents Department selects about 8% of items available from the Government Printing Office (GPO) and makes accessible materials reflecting the information needs of most patrons, both university and community. The Library is also a full depository of the State of Texas and the Government Documents department houses and administers that collection, as well as the law collection. Government Documents is committed to providing free and unimpeded public access to government information through the federal and state depository programs.
