Creating An Abstract

An abstract may only be submitted with the approval of a faculty mentor.  The abstract should have a maximum of 200 words and should include:

  • Summary of the background for your research
  • Research Hypothesis
  • Methodology
  • Results
  • Significance of the Results

The abstract will be reviewed by the vice provost of Texas A&M University-Commerce for content and accuracy.

Abstracts should follow these guidelines:

  • Microsoft Word document
  • Title:  Centered; 14-point Arial font; bold; upper and lower case
  • Authors Name(s):  Centered; 12-point Arial font; underline presenting the Author's Name  (Only the person presenting at the symposium)
  • Affiliation(s):  Centered; 12-point Arial font; Department(s) and Name of Institution(s)
  • Abstract Text:  One double-space after Author(s); Left justified; 12-point Arial; 200 words or less
