Which course do I choose in CITI to meet requirements?

  • You chose the one(s) closest to your type of research. Below are some suggestions:
    • RCR-Responsible Conduct of Research
      • Biomedical - Is when you are doing medical research
      • Social and Behavioral - Is what most of the College of Education chose
      • Physical Science - Is what most of the College of Science, Engineering and Agriculture chose
      • Humanities - Is what most of the College of Business and College of Humanities, Social Sciences, and Arts chose
    • Human Subjects Research (In CITI, there is explanation beside the courses)
      • Biomedical - Is when you are doing any medical research
      • Social and Behavioral - Is what most of the College of Education chose
      • Physical Science - Is what most of the College of Science, Engineering and Agriculture chose
    • Laboratory Animal Welfare 
      • You chose by the explanations given in the question in CITI, and species of animal
    • Biosafety/Biosecurity
      • You chose by the explanations given in the question in CITI, and species of animal

I am registering for CITI and they are asking about CEU credits for $80?
  • If you wish to earn the credits it is at your cost, the training does not require having them.

I am faculty, staff, or student and need to complete the required research compliance training.  How do I do that?
  • You can complete the training through CITI, https://www.citiprogram.org, for Protection of Human Subjects, Animal Care and Use, Select Agents and Responsible Conduct of Research.

If I believe I have observed someone irresponsibly conducting research, what should I do?

I am a graduate student when do I have to have research protocols approved?
  • You need to check with Graduate School, but most of the time it will be before your final defense.

I am only doing a survey, do I need IRB approval?
  • You will need to submit a protocol for the IRB chair to determine if it needs IRB oversight. Most do need oversight, but some dealing with a program/course improvement may not.
