The Special Events program is amazing, fun and exciting! Our events range from a cultural experience to an all out Fright Fest! We encourage students, faculty, staff and the community to try different things and learn something new. Our program provides opportunities for you to make friends and gain experiences that you will remember forever.

Campus Rec 9th Annual Birthday Bash  |  August 30th
Ahoy there mate! It's time to set sail and join us to celebrate Campus Recreation's 9th Annual Birthday Bash. Come ye' maties and enjoy: birthday cake, a live DJ, sword fight against a pirate, conquer the Kraken, dine with pirates and more. Great giveaways and prizes will be given throughout the night so bring your friends and come help us celebrate our birthday. 

Salsa Night  |  September 25th
Ever wanted to learn how to Salsa dance? Well here's your chance. Salsa Night, hosted by Campus Rec, is an event with authentic Mexican food, a full Salsa Band, live DJ and dancers to help you learn how to dance. Come dressed to impress and enter into the pepper eating contest to win great prizes and have a chance to win giveaways just for attending.  

Fright Fest  |  October 29th-30th 
Boo! Fright Fest is an annual event where people of all ages can dress up and get some candy. This year, on 10/29 we are having a terrifying Haunted House. On 10/30 we will have the kids Trick-or-Treat from 6-7:30 pm and the NEW 3D Haunted House will open at 8pm. Kids must have an adult with them at all times and a canned food item is your ticket to get into the Haunted House.

Jump N2 Spring  |  January 17th

Come out and help us kick off the semester RIGHT! We will have great entertainment, fantasy photos, Live DJ, Free food and shirts! Come visit and mingle with the awesome organizations and departments that our campus has to offer! This event is hosted by Campus Recreation and Alpha Phi Alpha.

Chinese New Year  |  February 19th

Chinese New Year is the longest and most important festivity in the Chinese Lunar Calendar. Come experience Chinese New Year at the MRC! Watch the traditional lion dance and martial arts dance, eat some authentic Chinese food, participate in Chinese crafts, and learn about the Chinese culture. 2013 is the Year of the Snake, so come out and celebrate with us!

Holi Fest  |  March 27th

The colorful festival of Holi Fest is celebrated by throwing colored dyes at one another. Come out and learn about Holi Fest with traditional food and play in the color fight!

Caribbean Night  |  April 9th

Come out and experience Caribbean culture with amazing authentic Caribbean food, live music, and get some free giveaways!

Casino Night  |  April 23rd

Let’s play some cards! This night is filled with playing poker, food, and live entertainment! Come out and win some BIG prizes like cameras, iPods, and a big screen TV!
