Habitat for Humanity

The Dare2Roar Program is dedicated to cultivate the lives of our TAMUC students by connecting them to community service opportunities. We believe service to the community is an essential aspect of leadership as it creates holistic development and interpersonal growth.

L.E.A.D. is launching a new online volunteer website powered by GIVEPULSE. This website will help advertise campus and community opportunities. This website will also allow students to electronically track, verify, and reflect on their community service hours. Check it out! https://leadtamuc.givepulse.com/

Operation Blue & Gold: A Day of Service

This is a very special day every fall semester that L.E.A.D. ventures outside our campus to express our gratitude to the community of Commerce by saying a big “THANK YOU” though service- oriented activities! Whether it is painting, highway pickups, or ranking leaves, it is a chance for students, staff, and departments to unite as part of a collaborative initiative to beautify the City of Commerce. We are one university, one community, one family!

During the Thanksgiving season, L.E.A.D. facilitates an opportunity for students to help twenty families in need within the Commerce community. These families are selected to receive a special holiday meal package that will ensure a memorable holiday experience. The selected students have the privilege of fundraising, packaging, and delivering the meals to the families themselves!

I Care

What better way to spread a little holiday cheer, than giving back and serving those that have paved the way for us? During the holiday season, L.E.A.D. took 20 students to Oak Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation in Commerce, TX to love on the residents during this joyful time of year! Students had the opportunity to craft homemade Christmas ornaments, provide warm and comfy socks for the residents, and gracing their ears with Christmas carols.
