Outdoor Adventure

The Outdoor Adventure Program (OA) seeks to provide superior adventure and educational opportunities promoting active lifestyles, appreciation for the natural environment, and personal development. We seek to Inspire people through outdoor experiences, encourage groups to Discover new things, and challenge individuals to Grow.

Visit our OAC COVID 19 page details for guides, measures, and restrictions.

Climbing Facility

The climbing wall is a great way to learn a new skill and make new friends. At the climbing facility we have two types of walls. The first wall is our 45 foot climbing wall. This wall has 4 auto belay stations and 13 manual belay set-ups. The second wall is our 12 foot tall boulder wall, containing over 40 climbing problems. Both walls have a wide variety of route difficulty suitable for beginner to advanced climbers and everything in between.

You need no previous experience to climb the wall and all equipment needed is there to use at no extra cost. Our program strives to offer an engaging educational experience. This is why our knowledgeable staff are happy to answer any questions and teach you everything you need to know about rock climbing. The climbing wall will be the first thing you see when entering the Recreation center so please stop by and give it a try.

Challenge Course

Outdoor Adventure’s Challenge Course offers adventure-based learning opportunities to enhance leadership, decision-making, and communication skills through an interactive process for groups to develop as a team. This hands-on approach is designed to help individuals learn from their interaction with others and then apply those principles to their life situations.
For more information please visit our Challenge Course Website

Disc Golf Course

We now have a full 18 hole disc golf course located at our Outdoor Adventure Center. Our course has 36 concrete tee pads; two tees on each hole for experienced and new players. The course is free to play, we rent and sell discs, and welcome anyone out to play or walk the course. All events and tournaments must be approved by Outdoor Adventure.

Trips Program

Each semester, we plan a variety of trips, workshops, and events for students and the surrounding community. The content of the workshops and the trip activities vary from rock climbing, to hiking, to mountain biking, and skiing. Our trips are truly the best way to encounter the program; they integrate strong elements of discovery, challenge, education, and relationship into the larger portrait of university experience. We also put together custom trips. If you're interested in planning one for your student organization, residence hall, friends, or family, we plan around your group’s personal preferences and needs.

Bike Trail

The trail is a 4 mile circuit comprised of four different loops. The trail has been professionally designed for both bicycle and pedestrian traffic. It loops around a pond and continues along a dirt trail through a variety of woods and fields. The trail provides exciting fitness opportunities away from busy streets as well as relaxing opportunities for walks along wooded paths. It is home to a variety of wildlife that enriches the experience.

The trail is open to the public from 5:00 AM to 10:00 PM. If the trail is closed due to inclement weather or muddy conditions, the front gate will be locked.
