Smith Hall is a three-story residence hall that houses both female and male students. Smith Hall is consists of double and private rooms, community showers, lounges, and a main lobby. Smith Hall offers many opportunities to get involved through programs sponsored by resident assistants or by joining the Residence Hall Association (RHA), which is a recognized student organization. Smith Hall houses returning first year-graduate students. Smith Hall is located on the West side of campus.
Each bedroom includes two regular-sized twin beds, two desks, a closet with drawers and shelves, smoke detector, a vanity area with a sink, and a toilet area shared with the room next door.
The shower rooms are located at a central location on each hallway and include four showers.
Each room has extended cable service, WIFI, and an Ethernet connection.
Residential Living and Learning provides free laundry services to all Smith Hall residents. The laundry facilities are located on each floor adjacent to the small lounges. There are two laundry facilities on the first floor, and three laundry facilities on both the second and third floors.
The Smith Hall Staff is composed of a hall director and six resident assistants.

All facilities in University Housing are non-smoking.
Family apartments have an open visitation policy. However, policy indicates that no children under 16 are allowed to spend the night. A guest may not spend the night more than 2 out of 15 consecutive days. You may not have more than two guests at any time, and all guests need to be accompanied at all times. The only pets allowed are fish in a 10 gallon aquarium (maximum size). One aquarium per resident.
