Costa Rica and Romania 2020

Study Abroad

The Social Work program's opportunities for studying abroad provide the privilege of learning about Social Work through the eyes of diverse culture and experience. Students interested in study abroad opportunities must be in good academic standing and submit a completed Interest Application for 2020

Costa Rica I (May Mini) Travel Dates May 12th - 20th, 2020

Students travel with social work faculty to Costa Rica in either May or June and are in country for nine days. Students are provided with a general perspective on social work and social welfare policy in Costa Rica. Working in conjunction with the Texas A&M University Soltis Center, presentations by social work providers and site visits to various social service agencies in areas of health, mental health, aging, child welfare and criminal justice, students explore issues of political and economic development, environmental social movements, history and culture.

Romania (Summer) Travel Dates TBD

For the first time, The School of Social Work will engage in Study Abroad in Romania. We are currently developing the itenerary for this trip and will have travel dates finalized soon. While in Romania, we will be connecting with social work students from San Angelo State and engaging in many educational and cultural activities. STAY TUNED FOR MORE DETAILS
