This Virtual Symposium originates in the College of Education and Human Services at Texas A&M University-Commerce. Dean Kimberly McLeod initiated this event to draw from the diverse disciplines comprising our college, each with a perspective on dismantling systemic and oppressive racism throughout education and human services. The Symposium opens in a General Assembly and features two keynote speakers of national stature, Ambassador Andrew Young and Dr. Donna Ford. Following the keynotes, participants will be directed into a Breakout Session of their choices:

* Education

* Elected officials / public policy

* Faith-based community

* Law enforcement

* Mental health

* Student voice

Opportunities for follow-up and actionable steps will be provided.
