Nabiha El Khatib

Nabiha El Khatib

PhD student, Teaching Assistant

Nabiha is from Lebanon and grew up speaking Arabic and English at home. This led to her interest in the field of languages and the obstacles that students face when learning a foreign language. She received her first BA in English Language and Literature and her second in Clinical Psychology. After that she pursued her MA in English Literature with a focus on the changes of form of expression in Modern Poetry, especially in the works of E.E. Cummings. She also holds the Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (or CELTA), which is awarded by Cambridge English Teaching Qualification centers. She is a qualified BULATS examiner of English teachers in public schools in Lebanon. She also taught Arabic as a Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant (2015 - 2016) at the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. She spent most of her professional life teaching intensive English courses for university students in Lebanon. In addition, she taught Classic Literature as well as Composition and Research Skills. She also prepared students to take standardized exams like TOEFL, SAT, IELTS and EEE. She is currently doing her Ph.D. in English with special research interests on phonology, pragmatics, and EFL/ESL.
