Weekday Campus Tours

Weekday Campus Tours

The best way to learn about A&M-Commerce is to visit campus!

During your visit, you can explore our spectacular facilities, including academic buildings and the student center. You can also meet A&M-Commerce students and learn about the numerous opportunities that await you. Weekday campus tours are:

  • 90-minute walking tours
  • Offered weekdays at 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
  • Led by Lion Ambassadors – current students who share their individual experiences about A&M-Commerce and provide information that will help you make your college decision.

Advanced registration is required. After you schedule your visit, you will receive a confirmation email with additional details, including directions to campus and parking information.

Group Visits

Group Visits

If you are a school counselor or organization sponsor, we invite you to bring groups of students to visit A&M-Commerce virtually or in-person!

We love to welcome groups to our campus! If you’re interested in gathering online, we are too — reach out with your request, and we’ll do our best to arrange an interactive info session for your group.

Group visits typically consist of a campus tour and an admissions presentation, but we can customize the experience to meet your group’s needs. To ensure the best possible experience for your group, please email us to discuss available dates and your preferred schedule.

Scholars Preview Day

Scholars preview day

Virtual via Zoom

Scholars Preview Day is designed specifically for high-achieving prospective students who rank at the top of their class or have achieved high SAT/ACT scores.

At Scholars Preview Day, prospective students and their parents will:

  • Learn about the Honors College and application process.
  • Find out about the exciting, high-impact experiences offered in the Honors College.
  • Meet Honors College faculty and staff.
  • Virtually attend an honors course.
  • Take a brief tour of Honors College housing and a few campus sites.
  • Visit with current students who will share their experiences about life at A&M-Commerce.

You’ve applied; you’ve waited, and now you’re accepted! Join us for Admitted Student Day, and be sure to bring your family. Going to college is a major milestone, and we’re here to celebrate this moment with you!

Have you been admitted to A&M-Commerce but remain undecided about where you will attend college this fall? Please attend Admitted Students Day. We invite you to return to campus with your fellow future lions to finalize important next steps, take another look at your future home away from home and get excited about the amazing fall we are planning for you. You’ve made it this far; we’re here to cheer you on!

At Admitted Student Day:

  • Tour your residence hall and meet up with your future roommates.
  • Finalize and accept your scholarships, financial aid and sign up for new student orientation.
  • Meet professors from your future academic college.
  • Load up on lion gear for Blue & Gold Wednesdays.

New Student Orientation is a fun and important opportunity for you to learn all about life and learning at A&M-Commerce. All new undergraduate students participate in New Student Orientation.

Congratulations on your acceptance to A&M-Commerce! You’re one step away from starting your journey here. All new undergraduate students taking courses at the main campus (in-person) are required to participate in New Student Orientation, an important, exciting step in becoming a part of the A&M-Commerce family.

Since you were not able to attend one of the in-person new student orientation sessions this summer which are required before enrolling for fall 2022 classes, you have this final opportunity. Please follow the link to the online New Student Orientation webpage and review the informational sections. After reviewing the information, you will find a link to access the Orientation Assessment Survey. Please complete and submit to record your responses.

The Student Orientation Fee is $100 and it is assessed to ALL main campus (in-person) new students without exception regardless of what type of New Student Orientation session. The fee is posted to your student account. If you receive financial aid it can be used to cover this fee, otherwise, by receiving this communication you as the student have been informed of your responsibility for payment of the Student Orientation Fee. If you do not complete the online New Student Orientation assessment survey, you will still be assessed the Student Orientation Fee.

After you have submitted your Orientation Assessment Survey, please email your academic advisor to schedule a time to register for courses: [email protected]

Yes, Freshman Orientation is mandatory for all new freshmen. You must attend orientation before you begin your first semester at A&M-Commerce. An optional program has been created for parents and families to attend if desired.

Notes About Visiting Campus

Need something special to make your visit great?

We are committed to providing access and accommodations to our services, programs, activities, education and employment for individuals with disabilities.

Visitor Parking

If you plan to visit The McDowell Administration building, you can park for a half-hour in front of the building. If you can stay longer, go by the cashier’s window just inside the front entry of The McDowell Administration building for a complimentary visitor’s permit. 

Texas Senate Bill 11 permits concealed carry of firearms in Texas A&M University-Commerce buildings only to persons who have been issued and are in possession of a texas license to carry permit. Pursuant to pc 46.035 and A&M-Commerce rule 34.06.02.r1, permit holders may not carry in restricted locations. Please observe temporary building and venue signage; to comply with state law and report violations to the university police department at 903.886.5868 or 9-1-1, view the campus procedure.
