OFFICE OF STUDENT ADVOCACY & SUPPORT

The Office of Student Advocacy & Support provides holistic support services to students. Staff uses a case management approach to assist students in navigating on and off-campus resources. The goal of this office is to collaborate with students to come up with solutions to the challenges they face during their time as a student.

TYPES OF ASSISTANCE OFFERED

  • Individual meetings to assess concerns of students in distress or crisis
  • Referrals to campus and/ or community resources
  • Consult with faculty, staff, and community on a variety of issue
  • Assist students who are unsure which office to contact regarding an issue

COMMON ISSUES ADDRESSED BY STUDENT ADVOCACY

  • Death of student, friend, or family member
  • Student hospitalization for a physical or psychological condition
  • Financial hardship
  • Difficulty navigating campus
  • Changes in behavior
  • Well-being concerns
