PawPrint Curriculum

Curriculum

Points can be acculumated by attending events, completing service activities, and gaining various experiences surrounding these 9 marketable skills:

  1. Career Management: Ability to identify and articulate one's skills, strengths, knowledge, and experiences relevant to the position desired and career goals, and to identify areas necessary for professional growth.
  2. Community/Civic Engagement: Ability to make a difference in the civic and community life of our communities and developing the combination of knowledge, skills, values, and motivation that make a difference.
  3. Critical Thinking/Problem Solving: Ability to analyze issues, make decisions, and overcome problems through use of knowledge, facts, and data.
  4. Global Awareness: Ability to demonstrate knowledge of interconnectedness of global dynamics, view oneself as an engaged citizen within a diverse world.
  5. Information Technology Application: Ability to select and use appropriate technology to accomplish a given task, or solve a problem.
  6. Leadership: Ability to leverage the strengths of others to achieve common goals, and use interpersonal skills to coach and develop others.
  7. Oral/Written Communication: Ability to articulate thoughts and ideas clearly and effectively in written and oral forms to persons inside and outside of the organization.
  8. Professionalism/Work Ethic: Ability to demonstrate personal accountability and effective work habits, demonstrate integrity and ethical behavior, acts responsibly with the interests of the larger community in mind, and is able to learn from mistakes.
  9. Teamwork/Collaboration: Ability to build collaborative relationships with colleagues and customers representing diverse cultures, races, ages, genders, religions, lifestyles, and viewpoints.

Digital Badges

Students can earn digital badges by attending various events, gaining various experiences, or holding leadership roles on campus.
To earn a badge you need to accumulate a set number of points. There are currently 3 badges for each marketable skill listed above.

Points System

1 service = 1 point/hour

  • Service Learning Activities
  • Community Service

1 event attendance = 2 points

  • Workshop or Trainings
  • Campus Programs and events

1 membership experience = 5 points

  • Student Organization membership
  • University Committees
  • Special Event committees
  • Non-academic awards and honors
  • Professional and student organization conference attendance and presentations
  • Leadership role in professional organization
  • Athletic team membership (NCAA, intramural, and club teams)
  • Mentorship programs
  • Internships
