Begin Your Career in Tactical Performance
The A&M-Commerce Tactical Performance and Resilience Certificate Program provides exam preparation resources and instruction for those interested in earning the National Strength and Conditioning Association’s NCCA-accredited Tactical Strength and Conditioning Facilitator® TSAC-F® certification. It also includes full support, professional resources and professional development opportunities for those interested in becoming a tactical strength and conditioning coach.
When you complete this certificate program and earn the NSCA TSAC-F® certification, you will be prepared to successfully apply scientific knowledge to physically train military, fire and rescue, law enforcement, protective services and other emergency personnel to improve performance, promote wellness and decrease injury risk. You will also be prepared to conduct needs analyses and physical testing sessions, design and implement safe and effective strength training and conditioning programs, and provide general information regarding nutrition.
NSCA CEUs will be awarded to all participants who are currently NSCA-certified and complete this certificate program.
While participating in the certificate program, you will learn:
- NSCA TSAC-F® certification material (alongside self-learning through reading)
- Concepts of in-field testing applications
- Considerations for successful program development and implementation
- How to access professional resources from practitioners in other scopes of practice.
Tactical Performance and Resilience Certificate Program :: Courses
Choose Your Course
Coursework focuses on textbook curriculum, in-field application discussions, current practitioner expertise sessions, in-field demonstration videos and certification exam preparation.
All students are required to complete Course 1 in order to complete the remaining courses. Course 1 and 2 can be completed concurrently.
1. Basics of Tactical Strength and Conditioning
Students will explore concepts of biomechanics, muscle anatomy, adaptations to exercise, bioenergetics and nutrition as it applies to the tactical athlete.
2. Injury, Illness and Disease within the Tactical Population
Students will observe the current health status of professionals that work in firefighting, law enforcement and military settings. Students will also explore current areas for concern and potential risk factors for injury, illness and disease in a tactical setting.
3. Testing and Evaluation of the Tactical Population
Students will explore different methods of assessing the physical fitness and current fitness status of tactical professionals and learn the in-field application considerations of those assessments.
4. Programming and Training Methodology of the Tactical Population
Students will learn physical fitness training methodology that results in transferable skills to job-related tasks of the tactical athlete. Students will also learn proper methods of exercise instruction and cueing of movements, programming considerations for strength and conditioning programs, and programming or instruction modifications based on personnel abilities and available resources.

Courses will be taught in a seven week format, 1-2 / 3-4 rotation, where two courses are taught per seven week session
