2015 Career Clinic continues to grow

Career Development at Texas A&M University-Commerce hosted its second Career Clinic on February 18. Students had the opportunity to update their professional wardrobe, take LinkedIn headshots, have their resumes reviewed and participate in a mock interview. This event helps students prepare for upcoming career and internship fairs.

“This is a wonderful way for students to prepare for the career fair or job search in one easy location,” said Tina Boitnott, director of career development. “If you don't have your professional headshot for LinkedIn you can get it here along with professional clothing, resume consultation and interviewing skills. You won't want to miss our next event!”

The Career Clinic hosted over 160 students from around campus this semester and has already grown larger from the first Career Clinic in fall 2014. Students left the event feeling more prepared for the job search process and more confident about their skills.

“This was our second Career Clinic and it was definitely a success,” said Ashley Ortiz, assistant director of career development. “The first Career Clinic exceeded our expectations and this was even better. We had a great turnout and our students feel better prepared to enter the working world.”

Career Development will be hosting additional events throughout the semester such as the upcoming Teacher Career Fair on March 25 and the Networking Workshop on April 1.
