Free Tuition and More to be Given Away During ‘Fill the Field House Weekend’
A big week is here for Lion Athletics at Texas A&M University-Commerce as the Lion men's and women's basketball teams gear up for “Fill the Field House Weekend.”
On Thursday, January 30 and Saturday, February 1, the teams will play at home with several special events and giveaways planned. The undefeated and No. 4-ranked Lion women's team will play at 5:30 p.m. on January 30 against defending national champion Lubbock Christian, while the men hit the floor at 7:30 p.m. On February 1, the Lions will welcome Angelo State, with the women starting at 2 p.m., and the men starting at 4 p.m.
January 30 will be Staff Appreciation/Blue Out Night. Complimentary food and drinks for A&M-Commerce staff will be available in Room 003 of the Field House beginning at 4:30 p.m. There will also be a raffle and photo booth, and a staff photo will be taken on the court at halftime of the women's game.
Community members who wear blue to the games on January 30 will receive a voucher for future tickets. Students who wear blue will be eligible to enter a raffle for prizes such as free tuition and fees for the 2020-21 school year, a $1,000 Under Armour shopping spree, a Fall 2020 meal plan, or a free parking pass for 2020-21.
The first 1,500 A&M-Commerce students who attend Thursday's game will receive a free “Fill the Field House” T-shirt. Each student in attendance will also receive a free pizza slice.
February 1 will be Fill the Field House day. Community members can gain free admission for up to four guests with a printed digital voucher that can be found by visiting @Lion_Athletics on Twitter.
The winners of the student raffle from January 30 will also be announced at Saturday's games, and a special presentation from the Make-A-Wish Foundation will be revealed. Lion Basketball alumni will receive complimentary admission, and a basketball letter-winner reception will be held at halftime of each game and between the games.
