Originally from Dallas, Texas, Jerrod Knight embarked on his academic journey from Wolfe City, Texas, with a determination to break new ground. As a first-generation college graduate, Knight was drawn to A&M-Commerce for the generous scholarship opportunities and the immediate acquisition of skills vital to his chosen career path. His return to the campus after a globe-trotting career in radio broadcasting promised a fusion of experience and enthusiasm, enriching his alma mater and the vibrant community of Northeast Texas.

What would you tell a student who is thinking about attending A&M-Commerce?

A&M-Commerce is a fantastic place to become immediately immersed in hands-on learning opportunities in your field. The university prepared me for a multitude of roles in my industry and I made invaluable friendships with fellow students, teachers, staff members and alumni which I maintain to this day.

How do you help students at A&M-Commerce?

My operation is equipped to provide students with the skills and tools to accomplish their media production and distribution goals. Students who desire to become active participants in audio production roles, broadcast or podcast talent roles, journalism, or related endeavors have countless opportunities within my organization.

What do you like most about your career?

I like solving problems and removing roadblocks. My career is one where innovation is mandatory and stagnation is impossible. Every day there's something to improve upon, something fun to do, some new goal to achieve or a new height to reach. I derive a great deal of personal satisfaction from delighting listeners, donors and clients with consistent, award-winning audio products and programs, and contributing to the teams and committees specific to higher education and broadcasting of which I'm a part.
