Oral Presentation Guidelines

There are no specific requirements or limitations regarding PPT size/dimension for oral presentations. Although the use of visual aid is highly encouraged, the decision is entirely up to the student and the advisor.

  1. Oral presentations are 12 minutes long: 8 minutes for presentation and 4 minutes for questions. The remaining time in your session will be open for audience Q&A.
  2. Visual aids should be displayed in logical sequence (e.g. abstract, introduction, method, and results or conclusion). This may vary by discipline, so check with your faculty advisor for guidance.
  3. Log into the virtual platform 30 minutes prior to your schedule session time to perform sound check and to ensure everything is working properly for your virtual presentation.
