Office of Research & Sponsored Programs (ORSP)

ORSP Mission:

The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP) serves to lead and promote the research enterprise and other sponsored activities at Texas A&M University-Commerce through faculty, staff, and student engagement; user-friendly support services; enhancement of research, scholarly, and creative opportunities; expansion of significant international collaborations; and major extramural funding acquisition.

ORSP Goals:
1. Assist faculty and staff in pursuing and obtaining external funding for research and sponsored projects
2. Maintain compliance in all areas of research
3. Conduct informational sessions and training on topics relevant to research and sponsored projects
4. Enhance recognition and dissemination of outstanding sponsored research, scholarship, and creative
5. Facilitate student engagement in research

The ORSP FY16 total external funding amount was $9,368,449.74.  This reflects a 24% increase over FY15.

Undergraduate Research Grant and Undergraduate Research Travel Grant Competitions

All required documentation and application forms must be completed and submitted by Monday, February 13, 2017 at 5:00 pm.


Federation Symposium Abstracts

You may begin submitting your abstracts along with the Faculty Advisor's approval form on January 1, 2017.  

The deadline for submissions will be Friday, March 10, 2017 at 5:00 pm.

Do not wait until the deadline to submit as we have a limited number of positions available.  Once these are filled, we will cease accepting applications.


JFRAC - Junior Faculty Research Award Competition 

This award for outstanding research by junior faculty includes a $1,000 check, a plaque and will be presented at the fall Awards Ceremony hosted by the ORSP.

You may begin submitting your required documents January 16, 2017.

The deadline for 2017 submissions will be Monday, March 27, 2017 at 12:00 pm (noon).  


Faculty Research Enhancement Program (FREP) Awards

You may begin submitting your documents January 30, 2017.
All documents must be received by 5:00 pm on Friday, April 7, 2017 to be considered for funding.


Summer Research Assistant (GAR) Support

You may begin submitting your documents February 1, 2017.
All documents must be received by 5:00 pm on Friday, April 14, 2017 to be considered for funding.
